The M1 Garand rifle (formally United States Rifle, Caliber 30-06, M1) was the first semiautomatic rifle to the United States became a common rifle infantry. Officially replaced the Springfield service rifle in 1903 as in 1936, until he was replaced by the M14, which derived from the M1, in 1957.
