Medieval chastity belt for women. A chastity belt is a belt or pants iron cerrable locked, allegedly forced some women to use during the Middle Ages to avoid lapses or sexual infidelities.

The subject gained popularity in England in the nineteenth century thanks to a book whose content is described as one of the most extraordinary things that have made male jealousy. The book describes how the object was used to secure the loyalty of the ladies who stayed at home alone while the husbands who are going to fight the Crusades. This is the most common, but wrong.
